VIEWERS of Dancing With The Stars are choosing to skip the show this time around in an attempt to “boycott” ABC.
This includes canceling their Hulu subscriptions as the streaming service is also owned by ABC.

They’re boycotting ABC in response to Jimmy Kimmel being suspended[/caption]

The decision comes after the network canceled Jimmy Kimmel Live due to his comments surrounding the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Jimmy is said to have criticized the response to Charlie’s murder, and his suspension came as growing pressure amounted from his show’s regulator.
Fans of DWTS feel that the whole situation has soured their excitement for the new season, so they’d rather pass on watching it altogether.
“I’m so freaking disappointed. After being excited for this season for months, and getting so hyped last night… this has thrown a bucket of rancid water over all of it,” said one user on Reddit.
Another user replied to this, stating: “Same. DWTS has been my Super Bowl since 2013 […] I may just be one person, but if “JUST” one person decides to boycott, the more and more people will show that we aren’t tolerating it.”
Some viewers have decided to opt for a loophole: waiting to watch the show on elsewhere online after it has aired so they don’t miss out and don’t give ABC a boost in viewership figures.
“I’ll watch the dances on YouTube or TikTok and just continue to vote for my faves regardless,” commented one fan.
“I cancelled my Disney+ subscription last night. The pros all post their dances to their IG the next day so I’ll watch that way,” agreed another.
DWTS is celebrating its second decade this year, having aired its first season in June 2005.
Its 34th season aired two days ago, which times poorly with the public’s decision to boycott.
The program first airs on ABC before being released onto streaming platforms like Hulu the following day.
DWTS is also available to watch on Disney+, so a number of viewers are canceling their subscriptions to that service as well.
ABC is yet to comment on the boycott matter.
