FBI chiefs are continuing to probe several theories that have swirled online following conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
Agents are investigating text messages that suspected assassin Tyler Robinson, 22, sent in the aftermath of the killing at Utah Valley University, as well as hand gestures made by those near to Kirk.

Robinson has been charged with murder and faces the death penalty.
Meanwhile, Kirk’s widow, Erika, and top Republicans, including Donald Trump and JD Vance, led mourners at a packed memorial service in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday.
Kash Patel, the FBI director, has revealed the probe into the Turning Point USA co-founder’s death isn’t over.
“As the Director of the FBI, I am committed to ensuring the investigation into Charlie Kirk’s assassination is thorough and exhaustive, pursuing every lead to its conclusion,” he vowed.
“The full weight of America’s law enforcement agencies are actively following the evidence that has emerged, but our efforts extend beyond initial findings. We are examining every facet of this assassination.”
Agents are “meticulously” scrutinizing different theories, according to Patel.
“We are meticulously investigating theories and questions, including the location from where the shot was taken, the possibility of accomplices, the text message confession and related conversations, Discord chats, the angle of the shot and bullet impact, how the weapon was transported, hand gestures observed as potential “signals” near Charlie at the time of his assassination, and visitors to the alleged shooter’s residence in the hours and days leading up to September 10, 2025,” he added.
“Some details are known today, while others are still being pursued to ensure every possibility is considered.”
Patel stressed how it’s important to protect the integrity of the federal probe.
“Our primary focus is to complete this investigation and deliver justice,” he said.
“To protect the integrity of the investigation and subsequent prosecution, we cannot release every piece of information we have to the public right now.
“We will ensure every question is addressed at the appropriate moment.”
FBI’s statement on Charlie Kirk assassination

KASH Patel, the director of the FBI, has issued an update on the investigation of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
“As the Director of the FBI, I am committed to ensuring the investigation into Charlie Kirk’s assassination is thorough and exhaustive, pursuing every lead to its conclusion,” he said.
“The full weight of America’s law enforcement agencies are actively following the evidence that has emerged, but our efforts extend beyond initial findings.
“We are examining every facet of this assassination. We are meticulously investigating theories and questions, including the location from where the shot was taken, the possibility of accomplices, the text message confession and related conversations, Discord chats, the angle of the shot and bullet impact, how the weapon was transported, hand gestures observed as potential “signals” near Charlie at the time of his assassination, and visitors to the alleged shooter’s residence in the hours and days leading up to September 10, 2025. Some details are known today, while others are still being pursued to ensure every possibility is considered.
“Our primary focus is to complete this investigation and deliver justice. To protect the integrity of the investigation and subsequent prosecution, we cannot release every piece of information we have to the public right now.
“We will ensure every question is addressed at the appropriate moment. Regarding specific details, such as questions about the plane that allegedly turned off its transponder after departing from an airport near the assassination site, we can share updates when answers are confirmed.
“After interviews with the pilot and consultation with the FAA, we determined the transponder was not turned off. Incomplete flight data in rural areas caused the apparent gap.
“The entire FBI mourns the loss of Charlie Kirk. We will not rest until justice is served, and our investigation into this assassination will continue until every question is answered.”

SHOOTER’S ‘ACCOMPLICE’?
The theory that Robinson may have co-operated with an accomplice has not been shut down by Patel.
This came after he vowed to investigate everyone in a Discord chat with Robinson.
Patel said the chatroom was being kept as evidence for prosecution.
Reports suggested that there were 20 people inside the Discord chatroom, but Patel implied the number is greater.
‘GESTURES’ THEORY
Conspiracy theories have swirled relating to gestures that were made before Kirk was shot.
Some have claimed that people in the crowd made signals to Kirk’s assassin.
One viral video shows a man, who is recording Kirk, fiddling with his baseball cap.
The man then made another gesture.
Sleuths also rushed to analyze a man, who appears to be a security officer, making hand gestures.
Stan Kephart, a law enforcement officer, tried to dampen down the conspiracy theories.
“My suspicion is that he’s checking off with somebody else, perhaps a supervisor, saying everything is okay,” he told The Mail.
“It doesn’t arouse my suspicions.”
‘ASSASSIN’S’ TEXTS
Investigators have also examined text messages they say were sent by Robinson in the aftermath of the killing.
Robinson seemed to confess carrying out the killing in a conversation with his roommate, who prosecutors say were in a romantic relationship.
The murder suspect said he was going to surrender to cops “willingly” and said he had planned to carry out the shooting for more than a week, according to the texts.
“I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,” a note that Robinson had left behind at his home, said.
A potential motive was uncovered in the conversation.
Robinson claimed he had enough of what Kirk espoused.
Robinson’s parents turned him over to cops, bringing an end to what was a 33-hour manhunt.
His mom reportedly grew alarmed when she thought the person of interest in images released by the FBI looked like him.
A former cop also encouraged Robinson to turn himself in, as reported by CNN.
Robinson is believed to have used a Mauser .30-06 caliber bolt action rifle to carry out the killing.
The weapon was used during both World War I and II and cops are examining why Robinson allegedly used it.
It was manufactured before John F. Kennedy required guns to contain traceable numbers.
The weapon dates back to the 1900s, meaning it’s difficult for cops to trace it.
Meanwhile, Kirk’s wife, Erika, has revealed she’s forgiven his assassin.
“I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And is what Charlie would do,” she told mourners at State Farm Stadium.
“The answer to hate is not hate, the answer we know from the gospel is love and always love.
“After Charlie’s assassination, we didn’t see violence, we didn’t see rioting, we didn’t see revolution.
“Instead, we saw what my husband always prayed he would see in this country. We saw revival [of Christian faith].”
She had previously spoken out about whether Robinson should get the death penalty.
