Subscribers logging into YouTube TV were presented with their usual screen to select an NFL game.
But after making their selection, they were met with a black screen on the mobile app.
Sunday Ticket subscribers flooded social media with complaints as the issues continued throughout the early kick-offs.
“Who do I contact to cancel my subscription and get a refund?” raged one viewer on X.
“Same thing happened last year with @YouTube . If they can’t handle the streaming, then give it up,” said another.
“Outrageous this happened,” complained a third.
“We better get some compensation for Sunday Ticket not working during games are being broadcast, the amount we pay for this to happen is unacceptable,” added a fourth.
The issues appear to have affected mobile users only, with the service returning to normal later on Sunday.
“Sunday ticket working now but d*** did they take their time,” complained one fan after the service resumed.
Viewers on web browsers and smart-TV apps streamed with no interruptions.
YouTube have held the exclusive rights to Sunday Ticket since 2023.
The streaming giants won the broadcast rights in a multi-billion dollar deal.
Sunday Ticket shows out-of-market Sunday regular-season NFL games, allowing fans to watch their team no matter where they live in the US.
A subscription for the season costs $378 for existing YouTube TV subscribers.
Earlier this year, YouTube announced a huge change in the way it lets fans watch this season.

“If you purchase NFL Sunday Ticket through a monthly payment plan, you’ll be charged your first payment at the time of purchase, and you won’t be able to cancel your membership for the season you purchased,” YouTube’s NFL Sunday Ticket pricing page stated.
“You will be automatically charged on a monthly basis for all remaining payments due for that season.”
This option is unavailable in five states – Colorado, Maine, Utah, Vermont and Wisconsin.
Users in the aforementioned states can instead split their Sunday Ticket subscriptions into four annual payments.
