JIMMY Kimmel’s show will not be shown on all ABC channels across the US when it returns to television screens on Tuesday.
The late night program had been suspended after the comic caused controversy over comments made about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s suspected assassin.

Kimmel sparked fury among some when he baselessly claimed that Tyler Robinson was a MAGA supporter and accused Trump’s fanbase of trying to capitalize on the shooting.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! will return to the air tonight, but not all viewers will get to watch the show.
Sinclair Broadcasting Group, which owns 39 ABC affiliate channels, will not be showing Tuesday’s episode.
“Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming,” a statement said on X.
“Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.”
One of the affiliates that Sinclair owns is WJLA-TV, which impacts the Washington DC area.
This means the likes of Donald Trump and other Kimmel critics can avoid having to tune into the show.
Kimmel had commented about Kirk’s assassination on September 11 and September 15.
It was his comments made on September 15 that sparked the most fury.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said in his September 15 monologue.
Then, the following day, Kimmel claimed some in the MAGA movement was trying to capitalize on Kirk’s murder.
Nexstar execs revealed the company was pulling Kimmel’s show.
Sinclair bosses ended up airing a repeat episode of Celebrity Family Feud when Kimmel’s show was supposed to air on Friday.
A tribute to Kirk was broadcast on its YouTube channel.
ABC chiefs pulled the show after admitting some of the comments were ill-timed and insensitive.
The move was welcomed by Donald Trump, who claimed Kimmel had “zero talent.”
Bosses said they wanted to avoid “further inflaming” what they labeled a “tense” situation.
The decision to allow Kimmel to return to TV screens has caused controversy.
Andrew Colvert, a spokesperson for Turning Point USA, urged Nexstar chiefs not to air the show on its ABC affiliates it owns.
Nexstar owns 32 ABC affiliate channels.
Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, was gunned down while speaking to students at Utah Valley University.
Suspected assassin Robinson has been charged with murder and faces the death penalty.
Thousands of mourners gathered at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday.
Kirk’s widow, Erika, wowed crowds when she admitted she has forgiven the gunman.
“I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And is what Charlie would do,” she told crowds.
“The answer to hate is not hate, the answer we know from the gospel is love and always love.
“After Charlie’s assassination, we didn’t see violence, we didn’t see rioting, we didn’t see revolution.
“Instead, we saw what my husband always prayed he would see in this country. We saw revival [of Christian faith].”
Donald Trump, JD Vance, and Elon Musk were among the high-profile figures at the event.
