A HISTORIC racetrack has undergone massive renovations.

The decrepit racetrack was purchased by CrossHarbor Capital Partners, with a plan to reimagine the venue.
“We are thrilled to begin a new chapter with such a beloved facility,” Sam Byrne, co-founder of CrossHarbor Capital Partners, said.
“We are committed to serving the community for decades to come and creating a space where all members of the car community can collectively share their enthusiasm for Willow Springs and motorsports.
“Along with Singer, we are collaborating with recognized and respected names within the auto industry and are excited to partner with them in pursuit of this definitive California experience.”
The first of those improvements were completed this week.
Willow Springs received new asphalt across its 1.8-mile road course and its kart track.
Renovations also included adding three new chicanes to the road course, allowing for more configurations.
Other upgrades include new curbs, grading around the track, and safer runoff areas.
The track’s color scheme was altered to green and white as part of the improvements.
Track improvements were designed by Alex Wurz, a former F1 driver and Le Mans winner.
Hart Howerton, a master planner, handled off-track enhancements.
“We are excited to preserve the history of Willow Springs while continuing to make improvements that establish it as the premier venue for motorsport enthusiasts of all kinds,” Byrne said.
Willow Springs was founded in 1953.
It is located around 100 miles north of Los Angeles.

For over 70 years it has been a crucial part of car culture in California.
Before the ownership change, Willow Spring was at risk of falling into obscurity.
However, the upgrades will bring new life to the historic venue.
It is set to host the community for events soon.
