THE New York Giants have made the decision to bench Russell Wilson and start rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart in Week 4.
Big Blue is ready to roll with its 2025 first-round pick against the Los Angeles Chargers at home on Sunday.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll told his quarterbacks that Dart will start over Wilson against the 3-0 Chargers, multiple outlets confirmed.
The decision came a day after Daboll failed to name Wilson as his starter, which was a hint that a change was coming.
“We’re evaluating everything,” Daboll said Monday when asked specifically about the Giants’ starting quarterback in the first three games of the season.
Wilson signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the Giants.
Daboll and the Giants still named the 10-time Pro Bowler the undoubted starter after the team selected Dart with the No. 25 pick in this year’s draft.
But the Super Bowl 48 champion has lost his starting role after leading his team to a 0-3 record.
In Week 2, the 36-year-old put up a vintage Russ 450-yard performance against the Dallas Cowboys.
But New York’s offense scored less than 10 points for the second time in three games in last Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Wilson led just one touchdown drive and recorded no catchable passes thrown in the fourth quarter that likely sealed his fate.
Giants fans could also be heard cheering for Dart and booing Wilson as they subbed in and out in multiple instances during the home opener.
“We want Dart!” the fans chanted at MetLife Stadium.
Dart has yet to throw a pass in six snaps during his two regular-season appearances.
The Ole Miss product did wow during the preseason when he completed 32 of 47 passes for 372 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Dart also showed his running abilities, posting 52 rushing yards and a touchdown.

But he’ll have the tough task of facing an undefeated Chargers team that has a defense ranked top-five in the league in numerous statistics, including opposing passer rating and yards per attempt.
Wilson’s immediate future in New York is undetermined.
The veteran could look to continue his tenure with the Giants, or ask to be released or traded to a quarterback-needy team ahead of the November 4 trade deadline.
Daboll’s Giants have lost 13 of their last 14 games.
The fourth-year coach is clearly on the hot seat, along with general manager Joe Schoen, as the two are 9-28 since the start of the 2023 season.
They had brought the Giants to the playoffs in 2022 as Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, and company earned a postseason win.
