A POPULAR tourist destination is facing backlash for charging “crazy” prices for coffees, cocktails, check-ins and ATMs.
The complaints comes amid a decline in the city’s tourism.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority noted an 11.3% decrease in visitor volume in June 2025.
A year-to-date summary shows visitor numbers have been on a decline since January.
Travelers revealed to Fox News Digital that they’re surprised by the prices of food and drinks in the city.
Katherine, a resident of College Station, Texas, told Fox she was visiting the city to celebrate her daughter’s 16th birthday.
“Having a coffee that was $14 was crazy,” Katherine said.
“I just wasn’t expecting that. It was just a latte with a few extra flavors.”
‘SO EXPENSIVE’
Katherine’s daughter Cammie, who got a lemonade for $12, added that even the water bottles in the city are “so expensive.”
Ben and Daisy, travelers from the U.K., told Fox they were in Las Vegas finishing up a cross-country road trip around the U.S.
“We have found it a bit more expensive than other places we’ve been in the States,” Ben said, revealing the pair spent $20 on two coffees.
“I thought that was quite a lot,” he said.
Coffee prices in Las Vegas are ranked higher than other major cities like New York City and Los Angeles, California.
TOO MUCH
According to Coffeestics, a cappuccino is priced around $5.47 in Vegas compared to $5.26 in New York City and $4.92 in Los Angeles.
Customer complaints of pricey food and drinks in Vegas aren’t new.
Last year, a user posted on the Las Vegas Reddit thread asking, “How can tourists afford to gamble when food & drink at even low-end casinos is absurd?”

MONEY SAVING HACKS
One social media user offered a money-saving hack: saving Starbucks points for your trip to Vegas.
The user explained using 200 points from Starbucks’ loyalty rewards toward an $11 drink in Vegas might be more worthwhile than using it toward a $5 drink at a Starbucks near home.
Faith and Janice, two Vegas tourists in town with their husbands who were attending a conference, revealed to Fox News that they were shocked by the breakfast prices.
Janice revealed her breakfast at Starbucks cost her $18 for a coffee and egg bites. Faith added she bought a $30 Cosmopolitan in Hell’s Kitchen.
“It was great, though, and we’re having fun,” Faith told the outlet. “You know, it is what it is, you’re on vacation, you just have fun.”
Las Vegas has seen a decline in convention attendance in addition to overall visitors. Records show convention attendance was down 10.7%.
One man in town on a 21st birthday trip told Fox he heard rumors of an ATM charging a $95 fee.
“I didn’t see it myself, but somebody was telling me that they went to withdraw cash. It was a $95 ATM fee,” he said.
A tourist from Washington visiting Vegas to see “The Wizard of Oz” playing at the Sphere told Fox about a $50 fee to check in early, which she called “a little heavy.”
