Halfway through the episode, rapper Micah, the recipient of Simon’s Golden Buzzer in the semi-finals, stunned almost all the judges with his performance.
Simon first praised the young performer and expressed how happy he was to have made it this far in the competition.
Sofia Vergara also shared applause for the AGT finalist, whose act included backup dancers, smoke machines, and strobe lights, which hyped up the audience.
However, Mel B put a wrench in the positive energy when she scolded Micah about his supposed treatment of the crew before stepping on stage.
“I just want to give you a few words of advice,” the Spice Girls star began. “You have to be nice to everybody.
“The crew, the people that dress you, because if not, you’re gonna meet them on the way back down anyway,” the singer concluded.
Simon acted put-off by Mel B’s comment and immediately snapped, “What do you mean?”
Host Terry Crews then gave coach Howie Mandel the floor, while a confused Simon tried to get further explanation from his BFF Mel B.
After Howie admitted that he didn’t enjoy Micah’s performance as much as his previous one, the camera panned out to the entire judge’s panel where Simon seemingly voiced his disapproval to Mel B over her shocking remark.
Micah apparently saw Simon stirring in his seat and drew attention back to the AGT creator.
“Simon’s got something to say,” Micah said while pointing in the former American Idol judge’s direction.
“I’ve just gotta butt in here. I’ve seen you, Micah, backstage, and this is my own perspective. You’ve been really polite and sweet to everyone, so that was out of order.”
Micah responded by publicly apologizing to anyone who felt disrespected by the rap star during his time on the show.
Tuesday marked the final night of performances for Season 20.
A winner will be announced on Wednesday during the live results show.
