DEION SANDERS is confident his son Shedeur will be a starter for the Cleveland Browns this season.
Shedeur, 23, was a fifth round pick for the Browns in April’s NFL Draft.

The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback had anticipated being taken in the first round.
But the Browns took a chance after he slipped to the 144th overall pick.
Veteran QB Joe Flacco, 40, has failed to take command of the starter role in Cleveland through three games.
And NFL Hall of Famer Deion – who coached Shedeur in Colorado – is confident his son will take over before the season is over.
“[He needs to be] patient and be ready,” he told Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights.
“You got to be ready when it’s time. But when it’s time, you’re going to know.
“And it’s coming up. I got a prediction. I ain’t telling nobody.
“I got a feeling when it’s going to go down. But it’s going to go down this year. He’s going to get a shot.”
“I think he’s probably right,” replied one Browns fan on X.
“It’s the Browns. There’s a nonzero chance I might start a game,” joked a second.
“Deion has always had a knack for getting in headlines,” laughed a third.
“Shedeur Sanders had the slowest time to throw in the preseason out of 105 quarterbacks (PFF 3.96 seconds). Starting him in the regular season is a very bad idea,” argued a fourth.
Fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel is currently listed as Flacco’s official backup.
And head coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed the 40-year-old will start in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions.

Sanders also confirmed reports that claimed Shedeur had told the Baltimore Ravens not to select him in the draft.
“I played for Baltimore, so me and [former Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome] are cool,” Deion continued.
“We understood that whole conversation, and he wanted to talk to Shedeur as well as he wanted to talk to me.
“I put Shedeur on the phone, and I don’t want to say how it went, but how in the world can somebody fault him for saying or thinking, ‘Why in the world would I go back up Lamar [Jackson] for 10 more years?’”
