YANKTON, S.D. (KELO) — #1 Yankton is set to host #3 Pierre on Friday in the KELOLAND Sports Game of the Week. Yankton is 3-1, following a loss to Harrisburg.
Pierre and Yankton will play in the ranked matchup on Friday night at 7 p.m. You can watch the game on KELOXTRA TV, KELOLAND+ and KELOLAND.com. The video player at the top of the screen will update prior to kick-off Friday.
The Bucks own the top scoring offense at 39 points per game. Pierre enters the contest at 3-1 as well.
The Governors own the third best scoring defense in the class. Yankton and Pierre met in last year’s semifinals and now the two will renew that matchup with plenty of respect for their opponent.
“It’s looks just like Yankton, like they have in the past. They’ve got a couple of really outstanding skill players on offense. They’ve got a big offensive line and they move the ball fast,” Pierre coach Steve Steele said.
“The big thing with Pierre, especially defensively, is trying to figure out what they’re doing offensively with formations and tendencies and things like that,” Yankton coach Brady Muth said.
