After 15 years, the original main cast of Scrubs reunited this week for the first table read for their upcoming ABC reboot.

The reunion featured the original series creator Bill Lawrence and OG stars Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Zach Braff, Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley.

The new series will follow JD Dorian (Braff) and Christopher Turk (Faison), who scrub in together for the first time in a long time.

Medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time.

Characters new and old will once again navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.

Lawrence executive produces the reboot, with Scrubs alums Tim Hobert and Aseem Batra as showrunners and executive producers reports Deadline.

Scrubs first came to an end in 2010 but last year, the show’s creator, Lawrence, teased that the comeback was imminent.

Speaking to The Independent, Lawrence said: “We’ve been talking about it. We all spend time with each other in real life, but everybody is so talented from that show that they’re all working.

“We’ve really started to entertain the idea about getting the band back together because we all feel like we do have some stories to tell.

“People in the medical community are heroes right now. They certainly aren’t doing it for the money.”

Scrubs was set in the fictional hospital Sacred Heart Hospital – a teaching hospital where the medical professionals are all the start of the burgeoning careers.

Creator Bill was even married to one of the show’s cast with his wife, actress Christa Miller playing Jordan on the show.

The original cast members also included Neil Flynn and Ken Jenkins.

But it’s not the first time that the cast have got back together.

Last year, Zach, John, Sarah, Christa Miller and dancer Amanda Kloots posed for a snap together.

John shared the picture on X, formerly known as Twitter, and captioned the tweet: “…getting the band back together!”

Fans loved the reunion between old cast mates.

One replied: “I LOVE this!”

Another said: “You all scrub up well.”

“Do NOT tease me! All of us fans would love to see a reunion movie,” a third chimed in.

And two years ago, fans were left feeling elated after another Scrubs reunion.

Warring on-screen exes Dr Perry Cox and Jordan Sullivan, played by John C McGinley and Christa Miller, delighted viewers with a catch up.

John captured the pair enjoying a hug in a cafe in a snap he captioned: “Does not get any better!”

Well, everyone’s dreams could be coming true sooner than later with this new major update.
