Straka missed the BMW PGA Championship earlier this month to be with his family.
Team Europe captain Luke Donald revealed: “Yeah, everything is OK. I don’t think an official announcement has been made, but him and his wife welcomed their baby a few weeks ago prematurely.
“Everything is going extremely well with their baby. He just doesn’t want to be so far away. I think that’s only fair.”
Straka committed to competing at the Ryder Cup despite facing a difficult few months.
And he contributed to Europe winning the prestigious competition 15-13 at Bethpage Black.
After the final round on Sunday, he said: “Yeah, it’s unbelievable. The last couple of months have been a bit of a roller coaster for my wife and I.
“Little Thomas is doing well. He’s in the hospital, but he’s doing well.
“You know, these guys, Luke and everybody, has been so unbelievable in supporting me.
“Yeah, I can’t thank everybody enough for the support that you guys are showing me throughout this whole thing.
“And yeah, I just, I cannot thank everybody enough.”
Europe partied into the night after narrowly beating the USA to win the Ryder Cup at the weekend.
Players stayed on the Bethpage Black course hours after the trophy presentation to continue celebrating.
They were filmed partying with champagne as the sun set in New York.
