Say goodbye to The Peach Cobbler factory stores after chain with 115 outlets across 22 states vanishes from US city

THE Peach Cobbler factory has officially shut all of its 115 stores across 22 states.

All three Jacksonville locations were the last on the chopping board as fans bid farewell to the much-love desert shop.

Bosses confirmed 4495 Roosevelt Blvd. Suite 405 at Ortega Park has shut – following closures at River City Marketplace and in Bartram Park.

Peach Cobbler factory was famed for its wide variety of cobblers and banana puddings.

In its 115 shops – across 22 states – it also served Cobbler Cookies, Cobbler and Pudd-N Shakes, brownies, cinnamon rolls, among other sweet treats.

After opening just three years ago, the Ortega Park location was spotted with a “For lease” sign on its door earlier this week, Jacksonville.com reports.

Responding to fans’ disappointment, company head Greg George stressed there were plans to reopen in Jacksonville.

The franchise owners, who are also pastors, are returning to ministry, he said.

He noted: “We are actively, vigorously working to reopen in Jacksonville. It’s been really good to us over the years. … We are not abandoning Jacksonville by any way, shape or form.

“It’s been excellent for our company. We are definitely coming back stronger than ever.”

“The [franchise] owners are absolutely fantastic people. Quite frankly, they came to us and said ‘we’ve been called to go back into the ministry,’ and that’s what they’ve done.

“And it was shocking to us, but we know their history and we support them. So, this isn’t like an unsuccessful closing, it’s a life calling.”

The Jacksonville closures come just months after the firm shut its location in River City Marketplace shopping center.

The Bartram Park store had opened in January 2024 at 13760 Old St.

They also follow Kroger’s dramatic announcement that it will be shutting yet more stores.

Six QFC or Fred Meyer grocery stores are shuttering as their parent company, Kroger, continues to cull yet more locations across the country.

Restaurant closures in 2025

Denny’s – Denny’s has confirmed that up to 150 locations are set to close in the US by the end of the year as many of them are no longer profitable.

Red Lobster – The chain has said that it plans to close over 100 stores across the country this year as new CEO Damola Adamolekun takes over.

TGI Friday’s – TGI Friday’s is still being forced to shutter locations thanks to a bankruptcy filing, including 30 in April alone.

Applebee’s – This chain is projecting a loss of 20 to 35 Applebee’s spots in 2025 but is teaming up with IHOP to introduce dual-branded locations with a curated menu of the two’s best items.

Noodles & Company – This emporium is set to close between 17 and 21 locations in 2025 following a difficult 2024.

Just 24 hours ago the firm announced plans to close Fred Meyer locations in Kent and Everett.

The two stores on the chopping board this time are in Lake City and Redmond.

One at 13000 Lake City Way NE and the other at 17667 NE 76th St.

Both will have their final trading days either on October 17 or 18 with the closure expected to affect almost 200 workers in each store.
