6 forbidden items Target will never let you return

TARGET has revealed the six items that it will never let you return, including merchandise from massive brands like Pokémon and Barbie.

Shoppers must inspect the condition of an item before purchasing it and ensure they are satisfied with it before opening it.

Target has a list of six items shoppers cannot return[/caption]

The retailer has a list of unreturnable items on its website, which includes items such as trading cards and dolls.

1. TRADING CARDS

The first thing that Target doesn’t let its shoppers return is trading cards and accessories.

This relates to things like Pokémon and sports cards that you would buy in packs.

You can also not return trading card binders that you purchase from the company.

2. OPEN OR DEFECTIVE ITEMS

This policy specifically targets collectable items like special edition Barbie dolls, porcelain dolls and action figures.

Sometimes collectors prefer to keep these boxed items sealed so they don’t lose value.

If a customer opens the box or if the item is found not to work, the item cannot be returned to Target.

3. PERSONALIZED ITEMS

If a customer gets an item personalized, it cannot be returned because Target will be unable to sell that item on to someone else.

Under this policy, Target has listed digital downloads.

The same rule applies, so shoppers need to be fully prepared when accepting a digital item from the retailer.

4. BREAST PUMPS

Target does not accept returns on open or unsealed breast pumps, presumably for hygiene and safety.

If Target cannot confirm that the breast pump hasn’t already been used, they cannot sell it on to another customer.

Much like the trading cards policy, Target needs to maintain the value of a product if it gets sent back.

5. SPECIALITY GIFT CARDS

This policy goes hand-in-hand with the digital download one, and specifies speciality gift cards, pre-paid gift cards, and Target gift cards.

TARGET RETURN POLICY

Here is Target’s updated return policy:

Target reserves the right to deny returns, refunds and exchanges including but not limited to prevent fraud, suspected fraud or abuse.

Target’s Return Policy

  • Most items sold by Target that are unopened and in new condition can be returned within 90 days for a refund or exchange. The return period for items purchased from Target.com starts when the order is invoiced, which occurs when any part of the order is shipped, delivered by a Shipt shopper, or made ready for pickup. Certain items have different return policies, as indicated on the receipt, packing slip, Target’s policy board (refund exceptions), Target.com, or within the item’s description. Refunds or exchanges may be refused for items that are opened, damaged, or lack a receipt.

Target Plus™ Partner’s Return Policy

  • Most items sold by Target Plus Partners that are unopened and in new condition can be returned within 90 days for a refund. The return period for Target.com purchases begins once the order is invoiced. Items sold by Target Plus Partners must be returned to Target, either in-store or by mail. Some items may have different return policies, which are outlined on Target.com. Refunds may be refused for opened or damaged items, and in-store returns without a valid receipt will be denied. Some items, like electronics, may have a shorter return window; please refer to the specific item description for details.

These cannot be returned or redeemed for cash or credit except for specific circumstances.

These instances will be made known to the customer duirng the purchasing process.

The polcy includes Target GiftCards, Visa, Mastercard orAmerican Express Gift Cards, as well as restaurant, entertainment and lottery cards.

6. TARGET PLUS FRAGRANCES

Finally, Target will not accept returns on any fragrances sold by its Target Plus thiird party partners.

This could be for a number of reasons, like if the partners aren’t subject to the exact same poruct rules as Target is.

If Target is unable to fully keep track of all of the changes happening with its parnters and how they operate, it would be difficult to accept any returns on items sold by them without second thought.
