DANCING with the Stars judge Derek Hough has experienced a noticeable mic mishap while critiquing Elaine Hendrix’s performance.
The moment occurred on Tuesday night’s live episode following the actress’s dance with her partner, Alan Bersten.

After the duo stunned the judges and the studio audience with their Tango to the song, Gnarly by KATSEYE, for the series’ themed TikTok night, Derek had trouble expressing his thoughts.
However, it wasn’t because he didn’t have the words, but because he suffered severe mic issues, which caused the sound to go in and out.
Derek pointed out the obvious difficulties, blaming it on his outfit choice.
The former DWTS pro dancer revealed the giant broach he sported on his jacket, appeared to “rub against” his mic, which interfered with the sound.
Derek paired the navy-blue jacket with red trim with a white collared button-down shirt and white pants.
He accessorized with a colorful broach, positioned on the left side of his jacket.
Alfonso Ribeiro, who co-hosts the show alongside Derek’s sister Julianne Hough, also commented on the incident and suggested that the TV star adjust his ensemble during the commercial break.
Derek appeared to take the advice because he didn’t suffer any more mic issues after that.
This was the third week of DWTS Season 34 with 12 contestants remaining.
Last week, two couples were sent home for a double eviction after dancing to One-Hit Wonders for the night’s theme.
Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson, along with Baron Davis and Britt Stewart were the first to go home after not securing enough votes.
The U.S. Sun exclusively reported earlier this month that producers already had their favorite contestant, who they’re hoping takes the Mirrorball Trophy this season.
An insider revealed that producers were “all in” on wildlife conservationist, Robert Irwin and his partner Whitney Carson, being crowned the winner.
Robert is already following in his sister, Bindi Irwin’s footsteps as she competed on Season 21 and secured the victory.
