KIM Kardashian and Kris Jenner are suing Ray J for defamation after he allegedly claimed the Kardashians were under federal investigation — and even branded them “worse than Diddy.”
The stars filed the suit against the R&B singer, real name William Ray Norwood Jr., accusing him of spreading “blatantly false” allegations they say have damaged their personal and professional reputations.

The rapper allegedly stated the Kardashians were ‘worse than Diddy ‘ and claimed a ‘federal RICO’ was coming for them[/caption]
It comes after Ray J appeared in TMZ’s Tubi docuseries United States vs. Sean Combs earlier this year.
He said at the time: “If you told me the Kardashians was being charged for racketeering, I might believe it.”
Weeks later, during a September 24 livestream to millions of followers, he allegedly doubled down on the claims.
He said: “The federal RICO I’m about to drop on Kris and Kim is about to be crazy.”
“The feds is coming,” he also warned.
Ray J reportedly added the claims would be “worse than Diddy,” a reference to Sean Combs’ ongoing federal racketeering and sex trafficking trial.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by Rolling Stone, the remarks amount to Ray J’s “latest and most malicious defamatory conduct.”
The Kardashians claim he’s waged a decades-long campaign of harassment since his infamous 2002 sex tape with Kim surfaced before their reality TV empire launched.
Their powerhouse lawyer Alex Spiro told E! News and People: “Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never brought a defamation claim before nor have they been distracted by noise — but this false and serious allegation left no choice.”
The suit accuses Ray J of showing “reckless disregard for the truth.”
It stresses that “no such federal investigation exists… no law enforcement agency has initiated any criminal proceedings… and no credible evidence whatsoever supports these inflammatory allegations.”
Kim and Kris are now seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
Ray J, 44, has a long and messy history with the Kardashians.
Who is Ray J?

RAY J — real name William Ray Norwood Jr. — is a 44-year-old R&B singer, actor and reality star.
The younger brother of chart-topper Brandy, he broke into the spotlight in the ’90s with music and TV roles before scoring a hit with One Wish in 2005.
But his biggest claim to fame came in 2007, when a sex tape he filmed with then-girlfriend Kim Kardashian in 2002 leaked — a scandal that coincided with the launch of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Ray J has since stayed in the headlines for his messy split with Kim and his digs at the Kardashian clan, including his 2013 diss track I Hit It First.
He’s also become a fixture on reality TV, appearing in shows like Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood and Celebrity Big Brother, and has launched various tech and cannabis ventures.
Despite that, he’s never quite shaken his reputation as Kim Kardashian’s ex.
He and Kim dated in the early 2000s, and the leak of their sex tape in 2007 catapulted her into the spotlight ahead of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Since then, the singer has repeatedly taken aim at his ex, from his 2013 diss track I Hit It First to interviews where he openly discussed their private life.
In 2018, he was accused of bragging about their sex life during a London night out, which Kim blasted on Twitter (now X), calling him a “pathological liar.”
Kim went on to marry twice more, tying the knot with NBA star Kris Humphries in 2011 before splitting just two years later.
Her most high-profile relationship was with rapper Kanye West, whom she wed in 2014 and divorced in 2022.
The former couple share four kids together — daughters North and Chicago, and sons Saint and Psalm.
