Government shutdown; Cold case reopens; Warm weekend

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Here are this morning’s top stories for your KELOLAND On the Go.

From Badlands National Park to Jewel Cave National Monument, the government shutdown is having an impact on some of South Dakota’s most popular tourist attractions.


We have an update on a South Dakota cold case dating back to 2001. Pam Dunn’s boyfriend was the last person to see her alive. He’s serving a life sentence for kidnapping her, but recently the case was reopened, because his attorney claims the sentence was ‘illegal.’


Students gathered at Dell Rapids High School for a presentation from Build Dakota. The presentation showed students different options instead of going to a four-year school after graduation.


Warm weather is set to continue for the rest of the week and the start of the weekend, but temperatures will start to drop on Sunday.
