Wounded Knee Memorial Site stabbing update

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — We have an update on a stabbing at the Wounded Knee Memorial Site in June.

Raymond Eagle Hawk, Jr. plans to plead guilty to assault with intent to commit murder.

According to court documents, he admits to stabbing a 71-year-old Texas man in the neck, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. Eagle Hawk was 18 at the time of the crime.

The stabbing happened in June.

A plea hearing has not been scheduled.

Once he enters a plea, Eagle Hawk could face up to 20 years in federal prison.
