THE Indiana Fever were eliminated from the playoffs, but there was much more concern for the health of star guard Kelsey Mitchell.
During Tuesday night’s WNBA semifinal, Mitchell collapsed to the ground in a scary scene during the third quarter.

On Wednesday, Mitchell revealed that she suffered a medical condition that left her muscles unable to function properly.
She was incapable of moving her legs as it played out.
Fever center Aliyah Boston drew a foul while setting a pick as Mitchell drove to the basket.
After the play, Mitchell grabbed an official who helped her to the ground.
Players and trainers quickly surrounded Mitchell, putting up towels for privacy.
Eventually a stretcher was brought onto the court, but it wasn’t needed as Mitchell was able to get up.
Still, she was taken to a hospital to be treated for her condition.
“I suffered from something called Rhabdomyolysis last night. my muscles stopped producing and reached it’s maximum capacity,” she wrote on social media.
“I went into a sense of numbness/paralyzing feeling with no movement from my lower extremities for up to 5 to 7 seconds.
“I panicked because I began to think the worse when I felt I couldn’t move my legs.
“It was an out of body experience and I thank God for covering me at a time like that.”
Mitchell said she is in recovery and thanked trainers and doctors for coming to her aid.
“I played literally until my wheels fell off,” she continued.
“Thank you for the prayers, love, respect, and support throughout all of this.”
