Popular actress Jayati Bhatia, who plays the role of Sharda Suryavanshi in Zee TV’s popular show Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, produced by Rose Audio Visuals, reminisces about Vijayadashami and discusses the day’s significance.
Jayati Bhatia says, “Being a Bengali, Dussehra has always held a very special place in my heart. As a child, the day felt bittersweet — it marked the end of Durga Puja, when we bid farewell to Maa Durga during visarjan. I still remember watching my mother and the women in our family play sindoor khela, their eyes brimming with both joy and tears as they let go of Maa Durga while already counting the days to her return the following year. By evening, the mood would shift as we stepped into the Dussehra festivities, watching Raavan’s effigy go up in flames, a powerful reminder that truth and goodness will always triumph over evil.”
