Horrifying moment street racing car flips & explodes in fireball as cops pull passenger out of burning wreck

THIS is the horrifying moment a street racing car explodes in a fireball before cops pull the driver from the blazing wreck.

Officers in New Mexico staged the daring rescue and shared the footage to “highlight the dangers of street racing”.

CCTV footage shows a white Sedan hurtling down a road and whizzing past another car.

It loses control and skids sideways into the verge, before flying into the air and exploding.

Police officers are on the scene almost immediately and their dashcam captured the flipped car burning furiously.

Bodycam footage then shows officers racing over to the flaming upside down wreck, where the man is trapped.

A red Toyota Supra was the opponent in the race and being driven by 22-year-old Kalynn Kenworthy, police said.

Her car could be seen speeding just behind the Sedan and stopping nearby when it crashed.

As cops run over, Kenworthy is on her hands and knees trying to haul the man out, screaming: “Grab my f****** hand,” but cops order her to “back up”.

The trapped man can be heard screaming in pain but is unable to crawl out by himself.

Officers bravely reach into the flames and grab the man, identified only as a 20-year-old male, before dragging him onto the road.

The back of his sweatshirt was on fire for several seconds before it was extinguished by his lying on the road.

The injured man remained lying face down in the parking lot of a grocery store for the minutes until paramedics arrived.

Police said there were two males inside the car when it crashed, but the other had evidently managed to climb out unaided.

They thankfully arrived on the scene almost immediately, because they had been tailing the white car and trying to stop it.

After being pulled to safety, the man told cops he was the passenger and that his friend was the driver.

Police discovered him among a crowd of bystanders and ordered him to sit down.

The driver, identified only as a 27-year-old man, has been charged, police said.

After the rescue, Kenworthy tried to check on her injured friend as he repeatedly begged police to call his grandma.

She said: “I’m just making sure that he’s okay.

“All I care about is him, I don’t give a f*** about that, I don’t give a f*** about my car.”

The driver and the passenger were both taken to the San Juan Regional Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Kenworthy was uninjured and was booked into the San Juan County Detention Center the following morning.

She was later charged with racing on highways and has a history of street racing, police said.
