He was rushed to hospital for treatment, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

The violent incident occurred around 12.30 am Saturday in downtown Indianapolis.

Sanchez was in the city to cover the Colts vs Las Vegas Raiders game on Fox.

After news of his injuries and arrest, ESPN insider Adam Schefter gave an update on the broadcast.

He posted, “The FOX broadcasting crew now calling Sunday’s Raiders-Colts game will be play-by-play announcer Chris Myers and analyst Brady Quinn.”

Sanchez was due to be on the broadcast with Myers.

But he has been replaced by Quinn.

At least one of them, now identified as Sanchez, was stabbed in the altercation.

He was then rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

WTHR reported that a person was detained after the violent altercation that saw one person stabbed and another with injuries “consistent with being in a physical altercation”.

The stabbing took place in an alley near Washington and Senate Avenue outside the Loughmiller’s Pub & Eatery.

The person who allegedly stabbed Sanchez claimed he was acting in self-defence and that Sanchez was the aggressor, FOX59/CBS4 reported, citing police sources.

Officers said that an argument broke out between two people, which led to the altercation.

The U.S. Sun reached out to the Indianapolis Metro Police for comment and was given the following statement:

“The incident involved two adult males, resulting in one man receiving lacerations and the other sustaining injuries consistent with stab wounds.

“Detectives believe this was an isolated incident between the two men and not a random act of violence.

“Both individuals, who are not local residents, have been identified.

“IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives are continuing the investigation and have reviewed video footage of the incident.

“Both men received medical treatment. The man with the apparent stab wounds remains hospitalized in stable condition.”

“The case will be presented to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision,” it added.

“It is the practice of the IMPD Public Affairs Office to not identify victims or suspects in incidents, unless the suspect is arrested, charged, or being sought.”
