But the drive did not stop there, and he was pushed further and further back, even after the whistle.

Eventually, the group of players tumbled into a pile on the sideline, taking a few bystanders with them.

This included ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe.

Rowe was sent tumbling before being helped back to her feet.

The commentary team of Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit instantly called upon her, checking she was ok.

Herbstreit exclaimed, “Holly went down! Holly, you alright, girl?”

Rowe retorted, “I have an injury update on myself.

“I’m good, but what I wanted to point out before I got wiped out was just look at the uniforms…”

Without even a breath, Rowe launched into her standard sideline report.

She discussed the filthy uniforms of several players on the field, showing how much effort they were exerting.

However, the commentary duo were more interested in the fall Rowe had taken, looking to banter with the reporter.

“Watch those knees!” said Fowler as a replay showed Rowe fall in slo-mo. “Watch the knee!”

They also noticed that Hall of Famer Michael Irvin was also taken out, failing to protect Rowe.

Fowler said, “Michael Irvin did not stand in front and protect you there.”

Rowe then jested with Irvin as the two embraced, saying, “Hey! You’re supposed to protect me out here.

“Next time, I’ll protect you if you’re not gonna protect me.”

The 59-year-old made her broadcasting debut back in the mid-1990s as a sideline reporter before starting full-time with ESPN in 1998.

She continues to work as the lead sideline reporter for ESPN’s coverage of Saturday-night college football, as well as on many other sports.

The Hurricanes went on to win 28-22, despite Florida State scoring 19 unanswered points in the final quarter.

Canes quarterback Carson Beck threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns to seal victory for his side.
