Lacy was found dead in his car in Houston, Texas, hours before he was due to appear in front of a grand jury.
The NFL hopeful died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He had been accused of causing a car crash which killed a 78-year-old man.
Lacy was also accused of fleeing the scene with charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle.
New video emerged last week appearing to “prove Lacy’s innocence.”
His attorney Matthew Ory claims the footage shows Lacy “72.6 yards behind the vehicles” at the time of impact.
“Key word – behind the vehicles,” Ory told HTV 10.
“That is not how this story was painted. Never.”
Reese, who played for LSU between 2022 and 2024, took to social media to show her support.
“Justice for Kyren Lacy,” wrote Reese on X, adding a heartbroken emoji.
Lacy played as a wide receiver for the Tigers for three seasons after transferring from Louisiana.
During his college career, Lacy caught 162 passes for 2,360 yards and reeled in 26 touchdowns across 64 games.
The 24-year-old was honored at a moving funeral service in April.
His girlfriend Cydney Theard paid tribute to the “most loving man I’ve ever known.”
