HOME Depot has confirmed it will shut down all 2,000 of its stores for 24 hours in the coming weeks – and more closures are scheduled.
The retail giant is set to close thousands of its beloved branches – and the shutdowns will occur twice before the end of this year.

Home Depot will close its doors at all its sites on November 28.
The closures will come on Thanksgiving Day, with employees on holiday leaving stores empty.
And on Christmas day, all locations will also be closed.
December 25 this year will see all Home Depots shut for good, leaving shoppers unable to purchase anything from the popular store.
Fears have mounted that the home improvement chain will not be open on Columbus Day.
The national holiday marks the anniversary of Christopher Columbus‘s arrival in the Americas.
It was created in 1968 to observe the historic day.
That date is also designated as Indigenous Peoples’ Day in some states and cities.
But on October 13 this year, all Home Depot sites will remain open.
Customers will therefore be able to go in and buy anything they want on national holiday.
It comes after two major US banks planned they will shut down for a full day in a few weeks, with consumers are urged to plan ahead.
Bank of America and Wells Fargo are among large financial institutions which will close on Columbus Day on October 13.
Columbus Day is a federal holiday which falls on the second Monday in October each year.
Many government services will close down including state and federal courts, public schools, libraries, post offices and banks.
Federal workers will get a paid day off, and it also means there will be no mail delivery on October 13.
However, some retail stores will stay open such as grocery and liquor shops, but shoppers are urged to check local opening hours.
Wells Fargo and Bank of America will shut all 7,700 locations.
Chase Bank told The Sun that it will remain open.
Additionally, one of the only major banks to remain open is TD Bank, which is Canadian.
The day is one of 11 official federal holidays marked annually in the States.
