Sanders underwent surgery that saw his intestine reconstructed to function as a bladder.
His doctor confirmed there was no trace of the cancer left after the treatment.
But Sanders admitted Sunday he was now suffering from a separate issue.
“Cat’s out of the bag, all right. I think I’ve got more blood clots,’ Sanders told reporters.
“It don’t make sense. I’m hurting like crazy.
“I’m not getting blood to my leg. That’s why my leg is throbbing.”
Sanders has struggled with his left foot since having two toes amputated in 2021 due to blood clots.
He was also forced to miss a media day in 2023 due to a similar problem in his leg.
“Sorry to get that out, but thank you for noticing,” he added when asked about his health.
Sanders’ admission came after another disappointing outing for his Buffaloes.
Colorado dropped to 2-4 on the new season after a 35-21 loss to the TCU Horned Frogs.
‘Truly disappointing,’ Sanders continued.
“It’s one thing to lose. Then it’s another thing to feel like you beat yourselves.
‘We were beaten in Houston. These other games, we had opportunity, ample opportunity to win the games.’
Struggling quarterback Kaidon Salter threw three interceptions as his tough season continued.

“I threw three dumb picks, they were bad decisions by me,” Salter said, per DNVR’s Scott Procter.
“I didn’t execute and I have to do better.
“We all got to stick together. We’re in college, we’re with each other every day.
“We just got to stay locked in, continue to trust each other, continue to hold each other accountable, and that’s that.
“It starts at practice, like I said. It starts with us getting up at six in the morning, going to meetings, just staying together.”
