Fox NFL Sunday star makes show return after abrupt absence in Week 4 – ‘I took four naps’

A FAN favorite analyst was back on Fox NFL Sunday this weekend after an unexpected absence.

New England Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski joined an all-star cast to review Week 5 of the NFL season.

Gronk, a regular on the Fox show since 2022, was missing for last week’s broadcast.

“Where’s Gronk today?” asked a nonplussed Terry Bradshaw just seconds into the show on September 28.

“He’s at home,” replied a razor-sharp Michael Strahan, to laughter from Howie Long.

“He’s taking a nap, he’s sleeping.”

Gronkowski returned on Sunday to much fanfare, with ex-teammate Tom Brady by his side.

“Good to have you back man,” Bradshaw beamed.

“It feels good to be back,” Gronk replied.

“I did four naps last week so I’m ready to go today.”

Host Curt Menefee then showed a viral snap of Gronk napping while watching last week’s show from his sofa.

“That looks like Jay Glazer, but that’s my dog,” Gronk replied to laughs from the panel.

Later in the show, Brady joined the gang ahead of a huge weekend of action in the NFL.

Brady and Gronk previously teamed up to win four Super Bowls in Foxborough with the Pats.

The 36-year-old is widely regarded among the greatest tight ends to ever play the game.

But Brady couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at his former teammates expense.

Discussing the Patriots matchup with the Buffalo Bills, Brady heaped praise on current New England tight end Hunter Henry.

“Right now, Drake Maye’s playing with the greatest tight end in the history of the New England Patriots, Hunter Henry,” Brady smiled with a smirk towards his former teammate.

“Brady is a savage,” laughed one fan in response.

“Tom can’t even sell that nonsense lol,” added a second.

“That is nasty work with Gronk sat there,” giggle a third.
