Nonthaburi handbag fight leads to stabbing and arrest

A seemingly harmless handbag purchase sparked a violent altercation, with a man tracking down his rival to stab him after a chaotic scene at a shopping centre.

The incident unfolded on March 21 at a shopping mall in Bang Yai, Nonthaburi, where a fight broke out over the purchase of a popular brand-name handbag.

A queue-jumping argument quickly escalated into violence, leaving multiple people injured. The store and mall temporarily halted sales as a result of the commotion.

“What started as a petty argument over a handbag turned into a brutal attack,” said Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, leading the investigation. “This kind of violence over material goods is beyond comprehension.”

He was apprehended by officers led by Police Major General Napasilp Poonsawat and Police Major General Samart Promchat, who had been pursuing him after a warrant was issued on May 26.

In his possession, police found a .32 calibre revolver, 60 rounds of ammunition, and a camouflage folding knife.
