Waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are expected to be moderately strong, with heights reaching 1 to 2 metres. Areas experiencing thunderstorms may see waves exceeding 2 metres.
In Northern Thailand, thunderstorms are expected to cover 60% of the area, with heavy rain in provinces such as Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Tak, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun. Temperatures will range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius (°C), reaching highs of 33 to 36°C. The southwest winds will blow at speeds of 5 to 15 kilometres per hour (km/h).
Northeastern Thailand will see thunderstorms over 30% of the area, with heavy rain in Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, and Nakhon Phanom. Temperatures will vary from 24 to 27°C, with highs of 34 to 36°C. Winds will move at 10 to 20 km/h.
Central Thailand is set to have thunderstorms over 40% of the area, with heavy rain in Kanchanaburi. Temperatures will be between 24 to 27°C, with maximums of 32 to 36°C. The wind will be from the southwest at 10 to 20 km/h.
Strong winds amid downpours
Eastern Thailand expects thunderstorms across 40% of the area, with significant rainfall in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Temperatures will range from 25 to 28°C, with highs of 32 to 36°C. Heavy winds are to be expected, ranging from 15 to 35 km/h, with sea waves between 1 to 2 metres and over 2 metres in stormy areas.
In the southern region (eastern coast), thunderstorms will cover 30% of the area, particularly in Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. Temperatures will be from 23 to 26°C, with highs of 34 to 36°C. Winds will reach 15 to 30 km/h, with waves about 1 metre, and more than 2 metres in areas with thunderstorms.
The southern region (western coast) will have thunderstorms over 40% of the area, especially in Ranong, Phang Nga, Trang, and Satun. Temperatures will be from 24 to 26°C, with maximums of 32 to 35°C. Winds range from 15 to 35 km/h in Phang Nga and 15 to 30 km/h southward from Phuket. Waves will be 1 to 2 metres, exceeding 2 metres in stormy conditions.
Bangkok and the surrounding areas are expected to experience thunderstorms covering 40% of the area. The temperatures are predicted to be between 26 to 28°C, with highs of 34 to 36°C, and winds from the southwest at 10 to 20 km/h.
