It was September when we lost the beloved singer of the nation, Zubeen Garg. Over the years, his voice has drawn his fans into emotions and helped them find their lost memories in his songs. Zubeen Garg was in Singapore and died at the age of 52 while swimming in the ocean. Months passed with authorities suspecting foul play in his mysterious, sudden death.
And now, on Friday, the Singapore Police Force has declared that no foul play has been noted so far in their investigations. However, investigations are still underway. In a statement, the SPF has noted that the investigation is being carried upon the Singapore Coroners Act, 2010. The statement noted, “The Singapore Police Force is aware of online speculation surrounding the circumstances of Mr Zubeen Garg’s death, as well as reports in Indian media regarding developments in India,” and it added, “Based on our investigations so far, the SPF does not suspect foul play in the death of Mr Garg,” per The Mint.
The police have further urged the public not to infer or speculate on unverified information and not to spread it. It has further noted that the Coroner’s inquiry is a ‘fact-finding’ process that shall eventually mark the cause and circumstances of the death. The results shall be declared to the public only after the hearings have concluded.
Zubeen Garg went to Singapore in September this year to attend the North East India Festival and perform. However, during his travels in Singapore, he died under mysterious circumstances.
