Fans trying to bag seats for the historic match experienced a wealth of issues

Demand for tickets for the historic game was incredibly high, so much so that servers began experiencing a wealth of issues.

At one point, there were over 600,000 fans in the virtual queue.

Scores of Irish-based American football fans were stuck in the queue for hours before errors with the server resulted in them being sent to the back of the apocalyptic queue.

Some were even booted out of the website when they were just moments away from completing their purchases.

The ticketing debacle, understandably, engaged fans, several of whom took to social media to vent their frustrations.

One wrote on X: “Spent 3 hours today in a queue for tickets for NFL Dublin just to be rejected and sent to the back of a queue 600,000 people long. Cheers.”

Another said: “I mean wtf, like the whole idea of having [the] NFL in Dublin was to expand it to Ireland.

“And there is absolutely no way there is 300k+ Irish in the queue.

“There should be a system in place for these games where 70% of tickets are sold to the host nation [and] the rest available everywhere.”

And another said: “Had NFL Dublin tickets in the basket ready to pay and got booted out to the back of the queue again.

“What an absolute joke.”

One remarked: “Congrats @Ticketmaster on another successful shit show for tickets for NFL Dublin.”

Another chimed in: “Great job @TicketmasterUK for having so many different errors trying to buy tickets for NFL Dublin.”

One said of the debacle: “Absolute joke.”

The first-ever NFL regular season game to take place in Ireland will be held at Croke Park on Saturday, September 27.
