Every year, on the vibrant occasion of International Yoga Day, we are reminded of the profound impact that this ancient Indian practice has on our physical well-being, inner tranquillity, and the health of our planet. As we set our sights on the upcoming celebration of International Yoga Day in 2025, the chosen theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasises the intricate connection between our wellness and the balance we maintain with our environment. This is a special day which encourages individuals and communities to come together in unity and mindfulness through the practice of yoga. Actress Sehaj Rajput, who plays the role of Unnati in Zee TV’s Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile talks about the influence that yoga gives her on a daily basis.
Sehaj Rajput says, “Yoga has always been my anchor — it helps me stay centred amidst the chaos of everyday life. But this year’s theme, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health,’ made me think beyond just personal well-being. It reminded me that our health is deeply connected to the world around us. These days, I often practice yoga outdoors — whether it is in my building’s garden or on the terrace. There is something incredibly grounding about breathing in sync with nature. It has also made me more conscious in everyday choices — from cutting down on plastic to switching to sustainable fabrics and eating cleaner.”
She talks in depth about its significance, saying, “Yoga is not just a form of exercise; it’s a mindset, a lifestyle. If each of us embraces even a small part of that mindfulness, we can create a healthier self and a healthier planet — one breath at a time.”
