Hunter, 22, has also earned a $30.57m signing bonus, which ESPN claims will be paid “entirely upfront”.
It is the first time a non-quarterback who was not drafted first overall will receive this cash instantly.
It is expected that he will be paid $840,000 as his base salary in his rookie season, which is down to the NFL’s slotting system.
His salary will then rise to $2.96m in his second season and then $5.08m in year three.
His fourth season will see him earn a salary of $7.2m, and there is an option for a further year in his deal.
Hunter shared a short video on social media after sealing his terms with the Jaguars.
He said: “What’s up, it’s your boy Travis Hunter.
“We are officially locked in, just signed the contract, so let’s get started.”
The Jaguars have hinted that Hunter will have an important role to play in Liam Coen’s team next season.
The team posted two announcements that he had signed his contract with one significant change.
The first post listed Hunter as a wide receiver while the second called him a defensive back.
Fans have hailed the deal and are expecting big things from Hunter now his deal has been wrapped up.
One posted: “Multiple pro bowls incoming in this kid’s career.”
A second wrote: “Liam Coen do the right thing and give this man 100% snaps at WR every game.”
A third commented: “Love that the Jags are going ALL IN on making this guy the franchise.”
