More rounds of thunderstorms ahead in KELOLAND

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) –A cold front has brought a big change in the weather to KELOLAND. Most areas will stay in the 70s for highs after some pockets of welcome rainfall last night.

You can see the radar review in the video below. Most of the rain fell in southeast.

Officially, Sioux Falls picked up .92″. Locally 3 inches fell southwest of Sioux Falls near Avon. This was round one. More thunderstorms are on the way this week.

Our planner today shows pleasant temperatures in Sioux Falls with highs near 80 degrees late in the afternoon.

A few scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible tonight south of Sioux Falls. We’ll monitor the placement of that rain, but we still think most of KELOLAND will start Tuesday dry. The bigger round of thunderstorms will start West River late tomorrow afternoon and move east Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Locally heavy rain is expected. We think that batch of rain will continue to move east during the day Wednesday, with another round possible Wednesday night into Thursday. Again, watch for locally heavy rain. Temperatures will start to climb later in the week, with 90s expect West River by Thursday and Friday.

Here are the details of the forecast.
