Teen Mom star Andrew Glennon battles own family in war over late mom’s $8.5m estate and claims he’s ‘shut out’ of talks

TEEN Mom Amber Portwood’s baby daddy Andrew Glennon is in a legal war over his family’s $8.5 million estate.

In a filing exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, Andrew, 41, says he was left out of large parts of the mediation over his family’s massive estate.

Last week, Andrew submitted an affidavit saying he had been cut out of significant portions of the mediation for his mother’s estate[/caption]

In an affidavit submitted to the court last week, Amber‘s ex wrote: “For the majority of the mediation, I found myself alone, left out of all discussions leading up to the signing of the agreement.”

He said his sisters, Juliet and Meghan, along with their attorney, left Andrew alone for over 45 minutes during a recent mediation session,

When the mediator returned, he asked if the former Teen Mom star had signed the agreement.

“I told them I had not. There was pressure on me to skim the document quickly, and I signed it under extreme duress, not knowing what I had signed,” he claimed in his filing.

Andrew took issue with the wording of one clause in particular, as well as the payment of his sister’s legal fees.

Amber’s ex, who is the father to their son James, 7, also said a piece of property that was not part of the estate had popped up.

“There is also mention of separate property in Sonoma County that was never part of this estate.

“Originally, this agreement comes off as being very coercive, as there’s so much more found here than what was mentioned in the actual mediation,” he wrote.

The former Teen Mom star said he would be hiring an attorney to assist him further, and that he wanted the agreement he signed previously to be invalidated because he had signed it without fully understanding what he was agreeing to and “under extreme duress.”

Andrew’s sister Meghan was named the executor of the estate, which was executed in January 2024.

ANDREW’S MOTHER’S DEATH

Their mother, Charmaine Witus, died on April 19, 2024, with an estate worth an estimated total of $8.55 million.

Andrew’s father, James Glennon, died in 2006.

According to the will filed in a Los Angeles court, Charmaine acknowledged she had four living children, Meghan, Allison, Andrew and Juliet.

Charmaine then continued she was only leaving her estate to three of her four adult children.

“I have intentionally, and not as a result of any mistake or an inadvertence, omitted in this will to provide for my daughter, Allison C. Glennon.”

Charmaine then said in her will, “I give the rest, residue and remainder of my state to my children, Meghan E, Glennon, Juliet C, Glennon and Andrew J. Glennon in equal shares per right of representation.”

Between the three adult children, they would roughly get $2.8 million each before taxes, legal fees and any other deductions were taken out.

RULING AGAINST AMBER

After Andrew and Amber broke up, an Indiana judge granted him full custody of James.

The former MTV star relocated with their son to California and was living in his mother’s Malibu estate at the time, as The U.S. Sun exclusively reported in 2022.

James and Andrew then moved to another family estate in 2023, this time in Santa Barbara.

In a surprising decision, obtained exclusively by The U.S. Sun, the custody judge outlined several factors that led to Andrew getting sole custody of his and Amber’s son.

One key consideration was the Teen Mom star’s recently published book, So You’re Crazy, Too?, which was released just weeks before the final custody hearings.

In the judgment, she wrote that in the book Amber “discusses her significant history of substance abuse, her history of domestic violence, her volatile attitude and propensity for aggression, her extensive mental health issues, her belief that the in-patient facility she attended for anger management should have instead been for drug use.

“Her fear she will never have overnight parenting time with her son, that she finds herself canceling on her son more often than she would like, and the idea of getting off probation soon concerns her because she will be unwatched and unchecked,” the judge concluded regarding her concerns about issues Amber addressed in her book.

ANDREW’S FAMILY FORTUNE

The MTV star’s family made their money in the film business in Hollywood.

His father James Glennon was an Emmy-winning cinematographer who worked on Deadwood and the film About Schmidt.

Andrew’s grandfather Bert Glennon was even more successful.

“Becoming a director of photography in 1916,” reads Bert’s IMDB bio, “Glennon became one of the industry’s most respected craftsmen and worked often for such perfectionist directors as John Ford and Cecil B. DeMille.”
