The video creator, Lauren Godwin, shared the news to her over 22 million followers on TikTok.

Lauren told her followers that she found a Labubu doll at the discount chain Ross.

The caption read: “I’ve never been more confused but SLAY I guess??”

She said in the video: “Are you seeing what I’m seeing right now?

“Am I being bamboozled?”

Lauren revealed that she had been unable to find the dolls anywhere online, including Pop Mart.

But she was able to find the Labubu doll at Ross for just $4.99.

Labubu has taken over the world with it’s range of dolls, a Chinese the brand originally sold at Pop Mart.

As a word, Labubu has no meaning, it simply refers to a range of vinyl plush toys known for their mischievous grins and big eyes.

The toys went viral during COVID times, and eventually made their way over to the US.

It wasn’t until April 2024 that the popularity of the Labubu soared, when Thai-born K-pop superstar Lisa began posting photos on Instagram with various Labubu dolls.

Then, other celebrities were spotted with them, from Rihanna to Kim Kardashian.

COMMENT FRENZY

In the comments, many were curious to know exactly where Lauren found her Labubu.

One person wrote: “What Ross did you go to?”

In fact, Lauren’s video has been branded as fake by several naysayers, claiming that she didn’t actually find a Labubu at Ross.

Lots of comments demand to see the receipt for the Labubu, and even Ross employees joined in on the band wagon.

A sceptic wrote: “You did not get the labubu at Ross if you did, it should have been all over the Ross stores all over America.”

And this was echoed in another pessimistic jibe: “Stop it because people are doing the same claiming they found labubus at TJmaxx, mind you I work there we don’t carry them don’t harass on the phone asking if we have any in stock.”

One Ross worker claimed: “Nope, I work at Ross Texas, we dont manage Labubus…yet…”
