SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — Five years after a crime put the community on edge, a Sioux Falls man is headed to prison.
In 2020, Amir Beaudion, Jr. was accused of kidnapping Pasqalina Badi as she was leaving work.
He was originally charged with raping, robbing and murdering her, but those charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal. Instead, Beaudion pleaded guilty to manslaughter, and Wednesday, following hours of emotional testimony, the judge handed down Beaudion’s sentence.
He will serve life without parole.
Pasqalina Badi’s sister took the stand this morning and told the judge the crime devastated her family. When asked how her mother was doing, she broke down and began crying.
KELOLAND News’ Perry Groten is in the courtroom Wednesday and will have a full report later.
