The 41-year-old from New Orleans turned himself into police after a warrant was issued.

Cops have been investigating the incident for four months which occurred during Super Bowl LIX.

Nantambu was hired to be part of Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He had permission to be on the field from the National Football League.

But the 41-year-old didn’t have the authority to demonstrate in the way he did, a police press release said.

The New Orleans resident held up a Sudanese flag with the message “Sudan and Free Gaza.”

Security personnel intervened and took him off the field while Lamar continued his performance.

A press release from the Louisiana State Police said, “Nantambu surrendered himself through coordination with his attorney and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for Resisting an Officer and Disturbing the Peace by Interruption of a Lawful Assembly.

“The investigation remains ongoing.”

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy also issued a statement after the protest.

It read, “We take any attempt to disrupt any part of an NFL game, including the halftime show, very seriously and are pleased this individual will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Nantambu is also reportedly banned from NFL stadiums for life.

Super Bowl LIX saw a massive security operation at federal, state and local level.

Security was also tightened after a terror attack in the city on New Year’s Day.

Fourteen people were killed when a driver rammed a truck into crowds in the early hours of January 1.

The attack happened on the famed Bourbon Street, a vibrant part of town with bars and restaurants.

And security was even tighter when it was confirmed that President Donald Trump would attend.

Trump took office for the second time in January and became the first sitting President to attend a Super Bowl.

He received cheers from fans inside the stadium when he flashed up on the big screen.

The President left at halftime before the Philadelphia Eagles went on to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs.
