A NOSTALGIC retailer that’s been compared to TJ Maxx is set to open 10 new stores within weeks, and it’s received plenty of support online.

Ross Dress for Less is opening 10 new stores across 10 major US states.

These include in California, Minnesota, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, and New Mexico.

The new stores will open starting from July 19, leaving shoppers with little time left to wait.

The CEO said that the reason Ross is able to open new stores is because of the value it gives to consumers.

Ross Stores, Inc. CEO, Jim Conroy, said: “Consumers are looking for value and convenience more than ever, and we’re excited to continue to bring those qualities to the community.”

In California, a new store is opening on Market Street in the city of San Francisco, the second one to be exact.

Another California spot is opening at the Euclid Shopping Center in Anaheim.

Ross isn’t coming back to the state without an offering, as it is making a donation to the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco.

The state of Minnesota is seeing two new Ross stores, in Woodbury and Savage.

Charitable donations are also going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Twin Cities and Harriet Bishop Elementary.

In Michigan, two more stores are popping up in Adrian, and once again donations are going to the local Boys & Girls Club in Lenawee.

Three stores are opening up in the New York city area, namely in Hempstead, New York, and West Long Branch and Brick, New Jersey.

New Mexico is getting a new 21,000 square-foot Ross store in the North Plains Mall Shopping Center in Clovis.

And finally, Nashville, Tennessee will welcome a new 22,000 square-foot store at the South Plaza Shopping Center.

It is thought that each store is expected to create between 55 to 90 jobs, made up of full time and part time rolls.

EXPANSION PLANS

Ross has been expanding already so far this year, and in March alone, the company opened 16 locations.

It also opened three DD’s Discounts, a discount department store chain it operates, in 14 different states,

Richard Lietz, Executive Vice President, Property Development, said: This Spring, we continued to expand the store base of both Ross and dd’s.

“Specifically for Ross, we expanded our presence in the newer markets of Connecticut, Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York, while dd’s growth primarily focused on existing markets of California, Georgia, and Texas.

“We now operate a total of 2,205 Ross Dress for Less and dd’s DISCOUNTS locations across 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam.

“As we look out over the long term, we remain confident that Ross can grow to 2,900 locations and dd’s DISCOUNTS can become a chain of 700 stores given consumers’ ongoing focus on value and convenience.”
