According to the class action lawsuit, QuoteWizard broke the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by sending unsolicited telemarketing texts.

QuoteWizard is a comparison website that compares insurance quotes from multiple providers.

The settlement alleges that the company sent the messages to consumers who had registered with the National Do Not Call Registry.

The firm has denied all the allegations but has agreed to a $19 million settlement, with hundreds of customers due a chunk of the money.

Anyone who received two texts will receive a minimum payment of $76. Consumers will receive $38 per additional text.

However, exact payment amounts can’t be known until all claims have been evaluated.

The QuoteWizard settlement affects individuals whose telephone numbers were listed on the National Do Not Call Registry and who received more than one telemarketing text from the firm within any 12-month period.

A proof of purchase is not required to receive the payout.

Pop culture collectibles company Funko is also sending out the first round of checks today.

Americans had until today to file claims for a share of a $14.7 million “misleading” settlement.

The settlement alleges that the pop culture collectibles company misled investors about its financial health before an initial public offering (IPO).

According to the class action lawsuit, the firm regularly sent an excess number of products to retailers in order to inflate sale numbers.

Stock was then traded at artificially high prices, which resulted in investors suffering serious losses when the truth was exposed.

Funko has denied all the allegations but has agreed to a $14.75 million settlement.

Meanwhile, Apple is making payouts to former owners of Siri Devices.

The settlement alleges that the company recorded confidential or private communications from current or former owners or purchasers of Siri Devices.

It’s also alleged that while Apple obtained the users’ information, it was then shared with third parties due to an “unintended Siri activation,” according to the settlement website.
