Indiana Fever land $500,000 cash bonus but Caitlin Clark is left fuming over rule that ‘makes no sense’

Caitlin Clark was baffled that her team won more money than the WNBA champions[/caption]

The Fever flexed their muscles by defeating the Lynx 74-59 without the help of Caitlin Clark.

Clark is still down with a groin injury and was unable to play in the contest.

The Fever still rallied for a big win, with Natasha Howard scoring 16 points, Sophie Cunningham dropping 13, and Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aari McDonald all scoring 12.

“My girls did their thing!!!!!!” Clark posted on X.

“So proud!! Lfggggg”

With the win comes a big payday, with the roster getting a $500,000 bonus.

The Fever have 11 players on their roster, meaning each player is going home with around $50,000.

However, the payday sparked some outrage from Clark.

Clark pointed out that the Commissioner’s Cup champions get a bigger payday than the WNBA champions.

“You get more for this than you do if you’re a champion,” she said on an Instagram Live video.

“It makes no sense. Someone help… Cathy [Engelbert] help us out!”

The WNBA Champions only get around $20,000 each for winning the entire league.

WNBA fans were outraged about this and joined in Clark’s complaints on social media.

“Caitlin was hilarious all celebration long last night but maybe the dumbest thing the @wnba does is paying the champs of the commissioners cup more than the real champs,” Barstool owner Dave Portnoy said.
