Octavia Monique Graham from Dallas, Georgia surrendered to police on Monday, local10.com reports.
She is accused of two counts of money laundering and one of first-degree grant theft.
The woman was being held at the Paul Rein Detention Facility pending a hearing on a $75,000 bond.
Jones told investigators he never met Graham.
According to Fort Lauderdale police, she worked with the ex-NFL player’s former financial adviser Isaiah Williams.
Williams allegedly abused his access to Jones’ personal accounts.
He was accused of stealing $1.58 million in 133 wire transfers.
And another $1.03 million is allegedly stole with the help of Graham.
Handwritten checks were taken from Graham’s account and deposited into Williams’ account, the report says.
Court documents said that Williams has not yet been arrested.
Jones’ attorneys released a statement Thursday.
They called the incident, “Yet another troubling example of a professional athlete being exploited by a wealth management firm he trusted.
“In this case, the wrongdoer was a Vice President at one of the world’s largest financial institutions — Bank of America’s investment management division, Merrill Lynch.
“We have filed a lawsuit to hold Merrill Lynch accountable and are working to recover all damages our client has suffered.”
Jones spent his entire NFL career with the Miami Dolphins from 2010 to 2019.
The safety was named to two Pro Bowls in 2015 and 2017.
He earned $58 million in salary during his NFL career.
Jones was also a two-year starter at the University of Georgia.
The defensive back was selected in the fifth round by the Dolphins.
He was released in 2020 after suffering what turned out to be a career-ending injury.
