SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Mitchell man has been indicted for crimes against children.
Eric Opperman, 48, is charged with 44 felony counts including first-and fourth-degree rape, aggravated incest, and the manufacturing and possession of child pornography, according to the South Dakota Attorney General’s office.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred between 2013 and 2025 and involved three children, all under the age of 13.
Opperman is set to appear in court on July 15th. He could receive up to life in prison if found guilty.
