Traveler issues warning about wearing jeans when you fly – says he’s faced delays every time over his clothing choice

A TRAVELER is warning others about a defect on a popular pair of jeans that may delay passengers while going through security.

The TikToker, whose username is @sidsbestlifemoments, posted a video advising others not to wear a certain pair of pants because the buttons trigger security alarms.

The traveler shared a 20-second clip of himself right after walking through airport security.

“Bro Levi’s, Levi’s jeans, if you guys ever see this,” the TikToker said.

“I’m at the airport, every time I go to the airport I get flagged through TSA for wearing your pants.”

The traveler pointed the camera down to show his light blue jeans with a metal button.

“[The jeans] got this button on it right there,” he said, pointing to the button.

“Every single time it registers like some kind of illegal object, I get patted down at the airport.

“This is the seventh time its happened this year.”

The TikToker ended the video by asking the popular denim company to fix the pants.

“I love your pants, I’ll buy ten pairs but fix your shit, it is so so annoying.”

The user captioned the video, “@Levis, please fix your jeans so the TSA employees stop getting extra friendly with me.”

WHAT TO WEAR ON A FLIGHT

Experts warn that travelers should avoid wearing tight jeans or leggings on a flight.

“The clothing we wear when we fly can significantly impact our circulation,” vein specialist Dr. Hugh Pabarue told the Huffington Post.

“For example, tight clothing is not recommended.

What should you wear on a flight?

HEALTH experts have warned travelers against wearing tight pants like jeans or leggings on a flight.

The pants can hinder circulation at elevation, and increase risk of blood clots pooling in the lower legs.

Plus, leggings could be a safety risk on the off chance that a flier gets caught in an aviation accident.

Instead, fliers are urged to wear medical-grade compression stockings, which counter the effects of a decompressed cabin, Dr. Peter J. Pappas, a vascular surgeon with the Center for Vein Restoration, said.

Compression socks and leggings have gentle pressure that encourages blood flow and prevents pooling in the extremities.

“Wearing leggings and other restrictive garments such as skinny jeans that are too tight reduces blood’s ability to flow into and out of the legs.”

Pabarue warned that sitting on a plane for an extended period could increase the risk of thrombosis, a serious condition where a blood clot forms in a deep vein of the leg.

Wearing clothes that are too tight can potentially lead to conditions like compartment syndrome or meralgia paresthetica, causing numbness, tingling, and severe leg pain,” said Dr. Pabarue.

Rather than wearing leggings or jeans, flyers should opt for compression stockings.

“Medical-grade compression stockings counter the effects of a decompressed cabin,” said Dr. Peter J. Pappas, a vascular surgeon with the Center for Vein Restoration.

“The compression stockings prevent the swelling and provide pain relief to your calf muscles.

“There is also data to indicate that patients with varicose veins who wear compression stockings during long plane flights have a decreased likelihood of developing a deep vein clot.”

Compression socks help to prevent pooling in the lower extremities and support the body’s natural flow.
