Homeowners can get up to $1.2k thanks to July payment change – funds are limited & it’s first come, first served

HOMEOWNERS could get payments up to $1,200 paid directly towards their bills thanks to a new tax relief being introduced this month.

Cash is being handed back against what residents paid in county taxes.

And there is a special deal for residents of one town in particular.

Mecklenburg County in North Carolina is the authority introducing the aid.

The tax returns are designed to provide much-needed relief to those who have been hit hardest by tax increases.

Residents can get back 35 percent in what they paid as county taxes this year, up to a maximum of $650.

And in the town of Davidson, the local authority will chip in another 35 per cent off taxes – maxing at $534.

That means the lucky residents of Davidson could get a cool $1,200 payment straight into their bills.

Not everyone will qualify for the financial aid.

Single people must earn below £62,850 per year.

And a family of four must have a household income of below $89,750.

These limits are set at 80 percent of the typical earnings in the area.

There are more rules limiting who can benefit.

Residents must own their own home, and it needs to have been your primary home for the last three years or more.

Your name must appear on all the official documents.

Locals are advised to submit claims as soon as possible, as there are limited funds and money is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Forms can be emailed to 4Homes@MeckNC.gov or dropped off at the Valerie C. Woodard Center, Ella B. Scarborough Center, or the county assessor’s office.

Elsewhere, millions of Americans could see extra money on their annual Social Security income under a new law that is expected to pass today.

Those who meet just two requirements under stipulations in President Donald Trump’s budget restructuring bill will get to keep up to $12,000 more of their benefits.

Trump’s budget reconciliation legislation called the One Big Beautiful Bill is an act aimed at slashing taxes, notably through the extension of the president’s 2017 tax cuts, and reducing the national deficit.

The lengthy bill, nearly 1,000 pages long, also allocates new spending on defense and immigration enforcement and includes budget cuts on a variety of programs such as Medicaid.
