Missing person in Flandreau, rockslide blocks road, firework trash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Let’s get a check on the latest in news and weather with KELOLAND On The Go.

First-responders in Moody County have suspended their search for a missing person last seen in the water near the Flandreau Dam.

A stretch of U-S Highway 14-A in the northern Black Hills remains closed this morning due to a rockslide.

People in neighborhoods on the northwest side of Sioux Falls are shaking their heads at the unsightly trash left behind by Fourth of July fireworks.

Following a couple of hot and humid days across much of the region, today will be a welcome break from the mugginess we’ve been observing. With that said, though, we’ve been dealing with showers and thunderstorms West River through the morning. That will continue for a little while longer as an impulse of energy tracks eastward and up to the northeast later in the afternoon.

Traffic will be heavy on KELOLAND highways today as families return home from their Fourth of July destinations.
