SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The woman that was pushed off a retaining wall near the 8th Street bridge last week died of her injuries Sunday night.
Jubal Rider Rattler, 45, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after officers found a 39-year-old woman unconscious at 11:30 p.m. on June 30.
Rattler pushed the victim off a retaining wall at the 8th Street bridge, which gave her life-threatening brain bleed injuries. On Monday, Sioux Falls Police Department spokesman Aaron Benson said the victim was pushed off a retaining wall over more than 3 feet.
The woman was identified as Doris High Elk at Monday’s police briefing.
An autopsy is scheduled, which could result in enhanced charges for Rattler, who was on parole for a different aggravated assault charge.
“The autopsy results will tell us what the next steps are,” police spokesman Aaron Benson said.
