Three secret anti-ageing exercises for over 60s recommended by scientists that won’t feel like a chore


EXPERTS have revealed the top exercises to perform if you’re over the age of 60.

Staying in shape is especially important as one gets older, and experts have identified three workouts that have anti-aging effects.

Squats, pushups, and lunges have been found to have anti-aging properties[/caption]

The YouTube channel ElderfitTV revealed that resistance training is especially important for staying young.

With that in mind, there are three exercises that are best for those over 60 to do in order to stay fit.

First is wall push ups, which works the chest, shoulders, triceps, and core.

“Pushups also improve posture, which is a hidden key to looking and feeling younger,” Tom from ElderfitTV said.

“It also boosts upper body circulation which brings nutrients to the skin and stimulates regeneration.”

Tom recommends doing eight to 10 reps of wall pushups, or as many as you can do with “good form.”

Next are squats, which are an easy workout to do with or without weights.

“Squats work your glutes, quads, hamstring, and core, some of the largest muscle groups in your body,” Tom said.

“The more muscle mass you activate, the more hormones you trigger that helps to slow aging.

“Squats also improve strength, joint mobility, and blood flow throughout the lower body.


“All are crucial for staying mobile and support skin firmness in your legs and hips.”

Tom recommends doing 10 to 15 repetitions of squats during a workout.

The third and final exercise is lunges, which can keep someone “mobile” while they age.

“Lunges mimic real-life movement like walking or climbing stairs,” Tom said.

“They challenge your balance, engaging your glutes, quads, and hamstrings, while improving stability.

Improving blood flow is important for looking and feeling young[/caption]

“Why is that important? Because balance work activates stabilizing muscles improving circulation, and keeps your nervous system sharp.

“All of that is essential for staying youthful and mobile while you age.”

Tom recommends doing six to eight repetitions of lunges for each leg.

To combine all three workouts, Tom created a circuit to complete two to three times a week to stay youthful.

An individual should do two sets of pushups, two sets of squats, and two sets of lunges, while resting for 30 to 60 seconds between sets.
