The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasts continuous heavy rainfall across Thailand, identifying 39 provinces at risk. The northeast, north, and east are expected to be most affected. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Danas is projected to make landfall on July 7.

Over the next 24 hours, Thailand is anticipated to experience sporadic heavy rainfall, prompting a warning for residents in areas like Nan, Phrae, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chanthaburi, and Trat to remain vigilant against potential flash floods and landslides.

These conditions are attributed to a low-pressure system over northern Vietnam, coupled with a moderate southwest monsoon affecting the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

The Department of Mineral Resources has highlighted the risk of landslides and flash floods in the aforementioned regions. In announcement number 12, the TMD warns of the intensifying typhoon Danas. The Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are experiencing moderate sea conditions, with waves reaching up to 2 metres.

Areas with thunderstorms may see waves exceeding 2 metres, urging seafarers to exercise caution and avoid navigating during storms.

Tropical Storm Danas, located north of Taiwan, is expected to move towards China’s eastern coast from July 8 to July 9. Although not directly affecting Thailand, the storm will intensify the southwest monsoon over the country.
