Caitlin Clark gets revenge on coach who snubbed Indiana Fever star for Olympics spot with rare WNBA All-Star move

CAITLIN Clark got some sweet revenge on a coach who didn’t select her for the 2024 Olympics.

The Indiana Fever superstar made an unusual move in the All-Star draft on Tuesday night.

Clark and Minnesota Lynx star Napheese Collier were picked as the captains for this year’s All-Star game.

The pair was tasked with making selections for their teams on ESPN.

After the captains made their picks, ESPN host Malika Andrews asked whether each star wanted to propose a trade, regarding either starters or reserves, before Clark announced a stunning move.

Clark traded Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve on live television.

“To be completely honest, I love my team. I don’t have any intention of trading any of them,” Clark said.

“I don’t know if this is in the rules – and I don’t really care – but we’ve already discussed that we’re going to trade coaches.

“Phee [Napheese] is going to take her coach [Cheryl Reeve].

“Sandy Brondello, let’s get it!

“Sorry ESPN if it’s not in the rules but we just made it a rule.”

Andrews was stunned throughout Clark’s announcement before she said, “We have breaking news here!

“I don’t know if I’ve ever heard of a coach being traded in an All-Star game!

“This is something you’re agreeing to Phee?”

Collier, who plays under Reeve, agreed with the trade and added, “That’s just going to be worse for Team Clark because now we’ve got more chemistry on our side.

“That was a bad move on your part Caitlin! We’re taking you down.”

Clark’s decision comes a year after Reeve snubbed the 2024 No. 1 overall pick of an Olympic spot last year.

The NCAA all-time leading scorer wasn’t included on the 12-player squad for the Paris Summer Olympics.

Reeve has also taken shots at the No. 1 face of the WNBA in Clark in the past.

In May of 2024, the four-time WNBA champion coach wrote on X, “The W is more than one player”, which is a reference to the amount of attention that has been given to Clark.

While Reeve has claimed that she didn’t play a role in Clark not being on the Olympic roster, Clark could think otherwise.

The 2025 WNBA Draft takes place on July 19 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
